Created during my artist residency at the 18th Street Arts Center, 12 Steps to Success for Artists in Los Angeles is a captivating video installation that explores creative survival in a major cultural hub. The work features a series of insightful interviews with a diverse array of LA creators, including writers, dancers, filmmakers, and visual artists. Structured as a twelve-step guide, the project blends candid reflection with subtle irony to examine how contemporary artists navigate professional success, financial instability, and artistic longevity. By gathering these multi-disciplinary perspectives, the installation acts as a powerful collective testament to the resilience and endurance defining the modern artistic identity in Los Angeles.
