Worship is a foundational site-specific installation that bridges my early sculptural practice with the narrative choreography that later defined my filmmaking career. Comprising over 100 hand-sculpted figures arranged in a rhythmic, massed formation, the work transformed the environment into a stage where viewers were met by a sea of figures bowing in unison.
By treating the arrangement of these figures as a form of "still animation," Worship explored how physical space could dictate narrative movement and audience participation. The work delivered a sharp, performative critique of patriarchal authority and the nature of cultural reverence. This early inquiry into character-driven narrative and the manipulation of space served as the essential precursor to my later evolution into 16mm animation and documentary film.
